PROFILE:

With modern day batters finding different types of shots to tackle the bowlers, Spinners in modern day cricket has evolved continuously bringing in new variations to their repertoire. 21yr old Purav Agarwal is one such young and promising bowler from Meghalaya who has already sparked a lot of interest within the cricket circles courtesy his great variations and accuracy with the ball in hand! A right-arm wrist spinner, Purav has stock deliveries like doosra, teesra, slider and arm ball in his arsenal which often gives batters a difficult time.

Purav started playing cricket at the age of 16 and already within a few years he has gone to represent Meghalaya State Team in BCCI tournaments. Purav started his journey at Tura Cricket Academy in Meghalaya under Coach Sangam Momim and since then there has been no looking back for the youngster. Purav’s big break came in 2021-22 season where he scalped 30wkts in mere 3 matches in U19 Cooch Behar Trophy which gained him national recognition.

Purav who idolizes the likes of Muttiah Muralitharan, Pat Cummins and Virat Kohli is no stranger to recognition as many of his bowling videos have already been liked by International Cricketers and Coaches on social media while some of his videos raking in lakhs and millions of views.
