Played at Labarriere Park 3 (WPG), Winnepeg Blues batting first were not off to best of their starts with scoreboard reading at one stage 27/3 in the 7th over. However, Winnipeg’s prime young all-rounder Prayag Kumar once again did the rescue act playing a brilliant innings to take his team out of the trouble. Prayag who is a naturally aggressive player adjusted as per team’s requirement and played a composed knock of 73 runs in 85 balls which included 8 boundaries in it. Prayag was well supported by the middle and lower middle order batters who chipped in with handy cameos. Milan Khunti (27* off 19 balls) and Kulwinder (13* off 14 balls) also did their parts stitching a useful 8th wicket partnership to take their team towards a defendable total of 216/7 in 40 overs.
Cosmos Lancers in reply were cleaned up for 110 runs in 27.5 overs with Hirusha W being the pick of the lot taking 3/20 in 5 overs. Prayag who first did the rescue act with the bat also took 1 wicket in his spell of 4 overs as Winnipeg Blues won the match by 106 runs.
