Parth Sahani who came at no.5 was the lone fighter scoring 109 runs in an otherwise what could have been a potential batting collapse for DY Patil team. From the bowlers, Sagar Jadhav and Ramakrishna Ghosh with 3 wkts each were the pick of the lot.
Central Railways in reply also found it difficult to get going with 3 batters out of the Top 5 going back home without opening their accounts. However, it was the experienced Manish Rao at no.6 who reminded everybody of VVS Laxman batting it out in the middle order and helping his team rescue. Manish single handedly faced 168 deliveries and made life difficult for DY bowlers as he scored 60 runs which included 8 fours and a six. Manish who is a natural strokemaker changed his game under crunch situation as Central Railways reached a total of 209/10 in 66.5 overs. Manish also stitched an important partnership with Vineet Dhaka who scored 55 runs at no.8. Vipul Krishna with 7/52 in 17.5 overs was the pick of the lot.
DY Patil in 2nd innings were cleaned up for just 86 runs courtesy a ferocious spell by Sagar Jadhav who ran through DY’s batting line up taking 5/23 in 11 overs which included 5 maidens. With a 4th innings target of 97, Central Railways chased down the total with ease winning the match by 6 wkts. Gandhar Bhatawadekar was the top scorer in the 4th innings scoring 41 off 39 balls.
