Veeral shines as Torna Tigers become Champions of 2N Designers Premier League Season II

Into the all important finals of the tournament, Torna Tigers opting to bat first at Hazare Sports Club in Pune could’nt manage an imposing total on board scoring 125/7 in 20 overs. No.3 batsman Yogesh Surkutlawar and all-rounder Mangesh Hande (33 runs off 27 balls) provided crucial contributions.  From the bowlers, Vedant Gidaye with 2/24 in 3 overs was the pick of the lot.

In a tournament which has witnessed big totals and batsman scoring centuries, the finals turned out to be a low scoring thriller as Torna Tigers successfully defended their low total restricting Rajgad Raje to 117/7 in 20 overs. The match remained exciting till the very end however the bowlers got the upper hand with Veeral Mehta bowling a match winning spell of 3/14 in 4 overs alongwith Vimal Hansraj taking 2/16 in 4 overs.

Torna Tigers won the finals by 8 runs, Veeral Mehta declared “Man of the Match”
