Spinner Praful Devkate scalps 9wkt haul as BPCL emerges Champion of B Division Times Shield’24

CGST opting to bat first in the all-important finals of the prestigious B Division Times Shield were cleaned up for 155 runs in their 1st innings courtesy a brilliant spell by their spinner Praful Devkate. Praful ran through CGST’s batting line up returning with excellent bowling figures of 6/47 in 13.2 overs including key wickets of set batters like Satyajeet and Tushar.

BPCL in their 1st innings scored 317 runs taking a lead of 162 runs. In the 2nd innings, CGST were all out for 288 runs and Praful was amongst the pick of the lot in the 2nd innings as well taking 3/66 in 19 overs as he ended his overall figures with 9/113 in 32.2 overs.

BPCL chased down the target of 130 runs in the 2nd innings with absolute ease courtesy a half century by opener Akhil Herwadkar as they won the finals by 6 wkts and emerging Champions of B Division Times Shield. For the uninitiated, Praful Devkate, now a Times Shield Champion practices at Achievers Cricket Academy – One of the Best Cricket Academies in Mumbai.
