Southpaw Jayy Jain fights it out alone for Parsee Gymkhana in the semi-finals of Mahim Juvenile 40 Cup’23

Jay Jain

Parsee Gymkhana after being put to bat first on their home ground had a hard time facing MCA Colts bowlers as they were restricted to just 144 runs all out in 29 overs. Opener Jayy Jain who scored an impressive 63* in his previous outing continued to outclass bowlers as he single handedly batted unbeaten till the end scoring a confident looking 79* off 76 balls. Jay held fort from one end even though wickets were tumbling from the other end. From the bowlers, Saif Khan with 5/30 wrecked havoc with the ball being the lot for MCA Colts.

MCA Colts in reply received an equal tough fight as pace Sylvester (3/28) did try to ruffle the feathers but Siddarth Akre through his valiant 51 off 54 balls ensured his team stayed alive in the chase as they crossed the victory line in the 29th over winning the match by 3 wkts.
