Shahid dazzles with all-round performance for Souvenir CC in Ajit Naik Memorial U14 Selection Tournament’24

VST Gymkhana opting to bat first on Times of India wicket, Azad Maidan were bundled up for just 39 runs all out in 23.4 overs courtesy a brilliant spell by Shahid Khan. Shahid, a promising all-rounder who has performed consistently well this season grabbed everyone’s attention as he once again sizzled with a match winning performance taking 5/12 in 10 overs including 4 maidens. Shiv Tripathi also bowled well taking 4 wkts.

Souvenir CC in reply scored 298/10 in 64.4 overs with Shahid Khan top scoring with the bat too spanking a brilliant 98 off 97 balls. Coming at no.3, Shahid smashed 15 boundaries striking at 100 + keeping the scoreboard ticking. Shahid also stitched crucial partnerships with Devashish (30 runs) and Arnav (83 runs) at the middle order as Souvenir CC reached a respectable total on the board.

With a lead of 259 runs to follow, VST Gymkhana were all out for 85 runs in their 2nd innings as Souvenir CC won the match by an innings and 174 runs. Shahid Khan for his all-round contribution was declared ‘man of the match”
