Qatar clinches a high scoring thriller as M Tanveer and H Rathod seal it off with the bat in Bilateral T20 Series’24

Hong Kong opting to bat first at Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Qatar made a healthy total of 197/5 in 20 overs with opener Martin Coetzee scoring a fabulous 102 off 63 balls at a strike rate of 161.90. The rest of the batters gave starts as Hong Kong reached a more than defendable total on board. From the bowlers, Amir Farooq took 2 wkts while rest of the bowlers also chipped in well.

Qatar chasing 198 once again had a somewhat shaky start at the top of the order but it was Muhammad Tanveer at the middle order who pretty much nailed it with blinder of an innings as he scored an unbeaten 80* off 46 balls spanking 6 sixes and 5 boundaries. The match got exciting till the very last ball with Amir Farooq (31 runs) also giving a good support to Tanveer.

In the end it was all-rounder Himanshu Rathod once again playing a finishing cameo as he came in, faced 4 balls, smashed a six and a boundary to take Qatar home with a 4wkt win. Himanshu scored 13* off 4 balls at no.8 as Qatar clinched a memorable win.
