Nikhil Jain’s 73 helps Forza CC chase down a massive total of 218 in Sportsage Cup’13

Scoremonks opting to bat first at Sportsage Cricket Ground in Pune made a total of 217/6 in 20 overs. Opener Dat Routray scored 101 off 52 balls while rest of the batters chipped in with cameos.  From the bowlers, Mangesh Chandratre with 2/20 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot.

Chasing 200+ total in t20’s is always a difficult task but Forza Cricket Club did a terrific job of chasing the total. After openers giving a decent start, it was Nikhil Jain at no.3 who anchored the chase with a match winning knock of 73* in 46 balls. Nikhil who has been in terrific form with the bat since the last 10-11 months continues to mature as a batsman smashing 6 boundaries and 3 sixes under a high chasing pressure match. Nikhil was well supported by Prabhjot (34 off 16 balls) and Pradeep (16 off 7 balls) as Forza CC crossed the victory line in the final 20th over.

Result: Forza CC won by 4 wkts, Nikhil Jain was declared ‘Player of the Match”
