In the match vs Redbridge Parks CC, Spartans CC opting to bat first at Fairlop Oak Playing Field had a field day at the office, a day which they will remember for a long time to come. Syed Wasim and Upendar Reddy (81 runs) gave a flying start putting on 104 run opening stand which set the tone for the innings. Upendar registered his 3rd back to back half century for Spartans CC this season. Coming at no.3 Parimeet Jadhav continued the positive momentum with a brisk 68 while also stitching a crucial partnership with Nageswara Rao. Nageswara who came at no.4 went on to score an epic innings of 159* off mere 82 balls as he plonked the bowlers in every corner of the ground.
Nageswara who smashed 20 fours and 5 sixes not only registered higher ever individual score of Spartans CC but he also led his team towards a mammoth total of 434/4 in 45 overs, which again was not only the highest total of Spartans but also one of the highest totals registered in Essex and East London Cricket League. Nageswara was well supported by Ashok V at no.6 who scored an unbeaten 50* off 42 balls.
Redbridge Parks in reply were all out for 104 runs courtesy a brilliant fifer by Rakesh Chowdary (5/19). The rest of the bowlers also did a great job as Spartans CC sealed a massive victory by 330 runs.
