Matunga Gymkhana into the all important finals of D Division Kanga League batted first on their home ground posting a total of 236/6 dec in 30 overs. Openers Ihsaan Amin and Raj Gohil top scored for their team putting on a 107 run opening stand to set the base for their innings. Ihsaan scored an impressive 67 while Raj Gohil scored 46 runs missing out on a well deserved half century. From the bowlers, Paras Gadhavi with 3/70 was the pick of the lot.
SKP Athletics in reply were cleaned up for 102 runs in their first innings. Spinner Kunal Gawand with 4/27 in 7.3 overs with a maiden was the pick of the lot. Receiving a follow on, SKP Athletics were 64/7 in 21 overs before the end of the game’s play. Yogesh Dicholkar with 4/23 was the pick of the lot in the 2nd innings as Matunga Gymkhana won the match on 1st innings lead.
With this win, Matunga Gymkhana also emerge Champions of D Division Kanga League.
