Played at Bhayli Cricket Ground in Vadodara, Cricket Explained Academy after being put to bat first in this 40 overs encounter made a pretty decent total of 218/7 in 40 overs. Opener Kartik Gorivale top scored in the match scoring 74 runs off 112 balls, an innings which included 10 boundaries. Even though Cricket Explained lost some quick wickets, they got back into the game in no time thanks to a 106 run stand for 3rd wicket with Aayush Ambekar who scored a solid 41 off 63 balls at the middle order.
Darshanam U16 B Team were cleaned up for 136 runs in 33.3 overs in what was a collective bowling performance from Cricket Explained bowlers. Captain Aarya Sagare and Bhupesh were the pick of the lot bagging 2wkts each.
Coach Hrishikesh Puranik shared “Kartik and Aayush shine with the bat with a vital partnership. Bowlers Bhupesh, captain Aarya and Nitesh Chapte bowled tight overs to help Cricket Explained register their first victory on the tour. Yesterday without Aayush’s innings it was impossible to put up that first innings score. He is only 13 and a half and he played with such maturity, held his nerves, out his head down and batted along with Kartik. Lambi race ka ghoda as we say partnership of 106 runs in 114 balls”
