Played at Wisdom Cricket Academy Ground in Pune, Forza CC after being put to bat first made a total of 163/9 in 20 overs. Almost every batters got starts and chipped in with cameos with Jayant Dongare at no.10 scoring an unbeaten 27* off 21 balls while all-rounder Nikhil Jain (26 runs off 20 balls) and opener Sandeep Shinde (26 runs off 13 balls) being the key contributors with the bat.
Defending a total of 164, Orchid Rising Stars were reduced to 106 runs all out in 16.4 overs thanks to a disciplined bowling performance by Forza bowlers. Ashwin with 3/11 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot alongwith Nikhil Jain who took 3/18 in mere 2.1 overs. Known to provide breakthroughs, Nikhil played a crucial role in team’s win removing both the openers early as Forza CC won the match by 57 runs.
Nikhil for his all-round contribution of 26 runs and 3/18 was declared Man of the Match.
What’s more, Nikhil who is one of the impactful all-rounders in Pune’s Corporate and Club Cricket Circuit was also recently awarded Man of the Series in Dunes Cup. In that tournament, Nikhil had scored 156 runs in 4 matches coupled with 8 wkts and 5 dismissals. Nikhil also bagged 2 Man of the Match awards in that tournament where he scored 2 half centuries in 4 matches.
