In the match between Jharkhand vs Manipur at BKC Mumbai, Jharkhand batting first made a total of 243/4 in 20 overs. After a solid start by openers Ishan and Utkarsh, it was their skipper Virat Singh who turned the game around with a match winning half century. Virat scored a fabulous 64 off just 32 balls which included 10 boundaries and a six setting the base for Jharkhand’s innings. The middle order batters consisting of K Kushagra (37 runs), Pankaj Kumar (42*) and Robin Minz (36* off 12 balls) further played well in the death overs to help Jharkhand reach a formidable total.
Manipur in reply could only manage 155/6 in 20 overs as Jharkhand won the match by 88 runs. Virat for his brilliant half century was declared ‘man of the match.
Virat has been impressive this season leading from the front as a Captain of the team. Even against Haryana chasing 112, Virat guided Jharkhand with 36* off 30 balls including a six of the last ball to take his team home with a 2 wkt win.
