Jayy Jain fights it out at the middle order with a fighting 161 in MCA U23 Selection Tournament’24

MCA Team A after being put to bat first at Chikhlikar Ground in Vangaon made a total of 392/7dec in 80 overs. Captain Musheer Khan and Parth Naik at lower order both smashed centuries helping their team reach a respectable total on board. From the bowlers, Shreyansh Bogar and Aryan Dalal bagged 3 wkts each.

MCA Team D at one stage did appear in some trouble after losing some early wickets however it was Jayy Jain at the middle order single handedly fighting it out alone with a gutsy century.  After Shashwat and Ayaz scoring half centuries, it was Jayy who proved to be the impact player as he counter attacked the bowlers with brute confidence smashing 161 off 101 balls. Jayy’s knock also included 9 sixes and 18 boundaries at a strike rate of almost 160.00 almost taking his team towards the victory line. Jayy now has over 1500+ runs in the season with an average of close to 58.00 showing great consistency with the bat.

MCA Team D fell short of just 2 runs as they got all out for 390 runs in 68.2 overs as MCA Team won the match on 1st innings.
