Hyderabad’s G Vivek Gagan shows solid resistance with a 143 ball half century in Cooch Behar Trophy’22

Vivek Gagan

Saurashtra Team batting first at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium posted a total of 290 in their 1st innings with three half centuries registered by Raxit, Manav and Saurav. Hyderabad Team in reply posted 221 runs in 82 overs with two half centuries registered by G Vivek Gagan and Murugan Abhishek.

Hyderabad had a tough time facing quality bowling attack of Saurashtra but G Vivek Gagan displayed  rock solid technique and calmness at the crease as he played a perfect no.3 test innings scoring 54 off 143 balls. Nowadays with the advent of T20’s, almost everybody knows how to slog but very few batters have the patience, technique and calibre to play long innings in a multi-day format. Vivek Gagan showed that maturity as he kept on batting taking Hyderabad to a respectable total.

Saurashtra in 2nd innings scored 357/9 in 103.2 overs posing a target of 401 runs for Hyderabad. It will be interesting to see how Hyderabad fights back in the 4th innings. Stay tuned on Zoom Cricket for latest cricketing updates.
