Hat-trick for Spinner Akshay Jain in Pondicherry T20 Tournament’22

Played at Siechem Ground at Cricket Association of Pondicherry, Sharks XI after being put to bat first posted a healthy total on board scoring 204/6 in 20 overs. The top 3 batters consisting of G Chiranjeevi   (96 runs off 58 balls), AS Govindrajan (51 runs) and Mohit Mittan (46 runs) top scored for Sharks.

Defending a total of 205, Tigers XI could only manage 170/9 in 20 overs courtesy a brilliant bowling spell by Akshay Jain who took 3/24 in 4 overs. Akshay was not only economical but also came up with a brilliant hat-trick in the 4th over changing the course of the match in his team’s favor. Akshay removed the top order early on which ensured Tigers XI could’nt get back into the game. Apart from Akshay, Logesh and Thivagar also bagged 3 wkts each.

Akshay who was the Highest wicket taker in Pondicherry T10 tournament continues to rise through the ranks now performing consistently in the T20 Format as well.

Result:  Sharks XI won the match by 34 runs
