Bhupen Lalwani (60 runs) & Amogh Bhatkar (92 runs) help Nirlon defeat DY in their own den in the A Division Times Shield’25

DY Patil opting to bat first on their homeground were all out for 208 runs in 52.4 overs. From the bowlers, Hemant Buchade and Yash Dicholkar with 3 wkts each were the pick of the lot. Nirlon Sports Club in reply scored an exact 208 same as DY’s score powered by opener Amogh Bhatkal’s gritty knock of 92 runs in 165 balls which included 11 boundaries.

DY Patil in 2nd innings were all out for 160 runs in 47.1 overs with Yash Dichokar and Hemant Buchade bagging 4wkts a piece. Chasing 161, Nirlon Sports Club chased down the score successfully thanks to a solid half century by opener Bhupen Lalwani. It’s not easy to chase successfully in 4th innings on opposition’s homeground but Bhupen with his experience made it look easy as he scored a solid 60 off 109 balls which included 5 boundaries and a six. Bhupen was well supported by Ishan Mulchandani who came at no.4 & scored 42 runs.

Result: Nirlon Sports Club won the match by 5 wkts.
