A Commanding win for Cricket Explained Academy in a one-off encounter vs VST Gymkhana

Played at the newly constructed Prabhakar Rao Desai Ground in Dombivli, Cricket Explained and VST Gymkhana became the first teams to play day-night match on this ground which resulted in an exciting competition between two teams.

Cricket Explained Cricket Academy opting to bat first made a total of 121/10 in 24.5 overs with Captain Hrishikesh Puranik leading from the front scoring 48 off 55 balls. Hrishikesh brought in all his experience as he held fort from one end even when wickets were falling from the other end. Wicket-keeper batsman Ajinkya Deshpande at the middle order also lent a crucial cameo of 33 runs.

VST Gymkhana in reply were cleaned up for just 60 runs in 17.1 overs courtesy a clinical bowling performance from CE bowlers. Kshitij Metkari and Aayush Ambekar were the pick of the lot bagging 3 wkts each while Chirag Panchal taking 2 wkts as Cricket Explained Academy won the match by 61 runs.

Hrishikesh shared with Zoomcricket.in: Our side had maximum juniors and two female players compared to the opposition team and because of the character our team showed we could win. Diyaan gala took a top level catch running from the log off boundary and diving in front to break an important partnership and crucial wicket to win us which what looked after our first innings a very difficult game to win. Overall, it was a very good game and it will certainly give the players a lot of confidence moving forward.
