Sujit Nayak, Hitesh Chauhan, Jayesh Pokhare shine in A Div Times Shield Match’22

Played at the DY Patil University Ground, DY Patil after being put to bat first scored 227/10 in their first innings with Ashay Sardesai (63 runs) and Jayesh Pokhare (45*) at the middle order top scoring for DY in first innings. Abul Kalam with 4/50 in 15 overs was the pick of the lot from Tata Sports Club.

Tata Sports Club in reply made 268 runs with Sujit Nayak top scoring at the middle order as he smashed 132 off 164 balls smashing 22 fours & a six.  Left arm spinner Karsh Kothari with 4/64 was the pick of the lot.

DY Patil gave a fitting comeback in their 2nd innings posting 368/7 dec in 81.5 overs. Hitesh Chauhan who came at no.3 crafted a composed innings scoring 80 off 154 balls which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. Hitesh also stitched a crucial partnership with Jayesh Pokhare who went on to score 122 off 109 balls coming at no.4 as both the batters ensured DY reach a respectable total to defend.

Tata Sports Club in reply batted for 28 overs losing 4 wkts for 107 runs at the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings lead.
