Raigad Pioneers after being put to bat first at Asthapailu Cricket Ground in Pune managed to post a total of 118/9 in 20 overs. Opener Navien and Sunil Jadhav at lower middle order chipped in with 20’s while rest of the batters found it difficult to get going. From the bowlers, Captain Abhishek Dave and Manish bagged 3 wkts each.
Defending a low total of 119 runs in a T20 match, the pressure was certainly more on Raigad bowlers. However, they did a brilliant job restricting the opposition to 111 runs all out. All-Rounder Prathamesh Angane bowled a match winning spell coming up with 4/14 in 4 overs including a maiden which ultimately made all the difference in the match. Apart from Prathamesh, Sunil and Dhananjay Purohit bagged 2 wkts each as Raigad Pioneers successfully defended a low total and won the match by 7 runs.
