DPL Sinhagad win the Finals & Emerge Champions of Designers Premier League’22

Into the all important finals of the tournament, DPL Sinhagad Panthers after opting to bat first posted a below par total of 128/8 in 20 overs. In-form Nikhil Jain stitched the innings with his solid knock of 39 runs off 35 balls at no.3. Nikhil came at a time when both the openers went early and even post that wickets were tumbling from the other end. Nikhil held fort from one end while Vimal Hansraj who came at no.7 played a very crucial innings of 40 runs in just 25 balls ensuring their Sinhagad Panthers reach a defendable total.

Chasing 129, the pressure was certainly on the defending team as totals of 120-130’s are nowadays easily chased in the T20 format. However, Sinhagad bowlers did an excellent job restricting DPL Pratpgad Royals to 57 all out successfully defending a low total and becoming the Champions of Designers Premier League. Jayant Sawant with 2/5 in 2 overs was the pick of the lot while Vimal Hansraj owned the day with complete all round performance also bagging 2 wkts with the ball.

Result: DPL Sinhagad Panthers won the finals by 71 runs, Vimal Hansraj declared ‘man of the match’
