A Hundred & a fifer in same match! Akhil Herwadkar creates a record in Purshottam Shield Tournament’24

Yogi Cricket Club batting first on CCI ground were all out for 148 runs in 38 overs with opener Vilohit’s 29 being the highest score. CCI bowlers were bang on with all-rounder Akhil Herwadkar being the pick of the lot returning with an impactful fifer. Akhil who has been in excellent form this season continued to impress as he took 5/32 in 6 overs including 2 maidens. Alongwith Akhil, spinner Dhrumil Matkar also bowled well taking 4/8 in 8 overs including 3 maidens.

CCI in reply chased down the score in just 18.1 overs thanks to a glorious hundred by Akhil Herwadkar. Akhil completely owned the match first taking a fifer and then anchoring the chase with a match winning hundred. Akhil went all guns blazing as he went on to score 110* off mere 58 balls, a knock which included 19 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Akhil was supported by Rudra Dhanday at no.3 who remained unbeaten on 22* as CCI won the match by 9 wkts.
