Sakaar’s ton and Upendar’s all-round show helps Spartans CC win over Tower Hamlets CC in Essex and East London League’24

Tower Hamlets CC opting to bat first at Victoria Park ground in UK made a total of 162 runs in 36 overs. From the bowlers, Harikrishna Reddy and Upendar Reddy were the pick of the lot taking 7 wkts amongst themselves. Hari took 4/42 in 8 overs while Upendar returned with 3/42 in 9 overs including key wicket of Arif who had scored a half century.

Spartans CC, Essex 2nd XI in reply displayed a fantastic batting performance chasing down the total in just 19.1 overs. Opening the innings, Sakaar Mishra went all guns blazing counter attacking the bowlers from the very beginning. Sakaar went on to score an unbeaten 109* off 64 balls which included 14 boundaries and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 173.02. Sakaar was well supported by Upendar who remained not out on 27* off 27 balls making it an all-round contribution for Spartans CC.

Result: Spartans Cricket Club won the match by 9 wkts.
