50’s by opener Mann and Satyam and Prasad’s fifer steers DYC Red to a win in Inter Academy Match

Played at NL Compex Ground in Dahisar, DYCA Green opting to bat first made a total of 235/9 in 40 overs. It was a shaky start by the top order with openers falling early but Vicky Patil at no.4 ensured his team got back into the game as he scored a flashy 85 off 68 balls smashing 14 boundaries and taking his team towards a competitive total. Prasad Pawar was the pick of the lot as he bowled a brilliant spell of 5/24 in 5 overs cleaning up the lower order. Prasad did not allow batters to settle ultimately helping his team have an upper hand in the 1st innings.

DYC Red chased down the total successfully in the 38th over courtesy an impressive start by the openers Satyam Yadav and Mann Singhvi who put on an opening stand of 131 runs in mere 19 overs. Satyam scored run a ball 72 laced with 12 boundaries while Mann anchored the chase with a robust and solid innings of 78* off 87 balls which included 10 boundaries.

Mann showed good patience even when wickets were tumbling from the other end as DYC Red won the match by 2 wkts. Prasad P for his match winning fifer was declared ‘man of the match”
