PJ Hindu Gymkhana Emerge Champions of Police Shield, Divyaansh takes home Best Batsman of Tournament’25

Into the all-important finals of the Police Shield Tournament, PJ Hindu Gymkhana after being put to bat first at Mumbai Police Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai made a total of 292/10 in 75 overs. Siddhant Adhatrao (89 runs), Siddhesh Lad (67 runs) and Ajit Yadav (58 runs) were the key scorers smashing vital half centuries.

Victory CC in reply scored 211 runs in 40.4 overs with left-handed Divyansh Saxena being the top scorer with 90 runs. Divyaansh showed great character even when wickets were falling from the other end alongwith Sairaj Patil at the middle order who scored 56 runs. From the bowlers, Maxwell Swaminathan with 3/42 was the pick of the lot.

PJ Hindu Gymkhana in 2nd innings scored 261/10 in 39.5 overs with Amogh Bhatkar scoring 63 runs. From the bowlers, all-rounder Parikshit Valsangkar was the pick of the lot returning with bowling figures of 7/89.

Chasing 342, Victory CC gave a very tough fight, however it was Victory CC which got the upper hand in the death overs winning the finale by 4 runs. Left-handers Pragnesh Kanpillewar (64 runs), Divyansh Saxena (58 runs), Atharva Ankolekar (50 runs) and Aayush Zimare (61 runs) smashed gritty half centuries while Maxwell Swaminathan bowled a match winning spell taking 5/137 as PJ Hindu Gymkhana won the match and finals of Police Shield by 4 runs.

Divyansh Saxena was declared “Best Batsman of the Tournament” while Maxwell Swaminathan was declared ‘Best Bowler’ of the tournament.
