Vaibhavi Raja’s Half Century steers Matunga Gymkhana to a win in Late Arjun Madhvi Women’s Trophy’22

Matunga Gymkhana batting first at Thane Central Maidan posted a total of 130/1 in 17 overs. Skipper Vaibhavi Raja led from the front as she scored a match winning half century coming at no.3. After losing the opener early, Vaibhavi came in to bat in the first over itself to guide her team towards a decent total. Vaibhavi scored 55 off 47 balls (7 fours) keeping the scoreboard ticking while she also stitched a crucial stand with Vidhi Singh who scored 48 runs.

Sind Cricket Club in reply did gave a fight but fell short of 5 runs managing 125/3 in 16.5 overs. Vaibhavi Raja was the pick of the lot taking 1/23 in 3.5 overs. Apart from her Janhavi also bagged 1/26 in her 4 overs.

Result: Matunga Gymkhana won by 5 runs, Vaibhavi Raja 55 runs 47 balls and 4 overs 23 runs 1 wicket was declared “Man of the Match”. She is leading Matunga Gymkhana and have so far won both league games out of 3.
