Sydney’s quick half century at the middle order helps United XI win finals of NB Corporate T20 Challenge Season 18

Played at Finecab Cricket Ground in Hyderabad, Telangana, D Monk XI after opting to bat first posted a total of 193/7 in 20 overs. Most of their batters got starts but could not convert it into substantial scores. From the bowlers, Gokul Joshi with 3 wkts and Sydney Joseph with 2 wkts were the pick of the lot.

Chasing 190+ in a T20 is always a difficult task but United XI CC made the chase look easy courtesy two match winning half centuries by Shiva Shankar Rao and Sydney Joseph. Despite a sluggish start at the top of the order, Shiva who came at no.4 brought his team back with a knock of 61 runs in 30 balls smashing 5 sixes. Sydney Joseph who came at no.6 stayed true to his reputation of being a game changer this time scoring an unbeaten 54* off 29 balls smashing 5 fours and 4 sixes. Sydney and Shiva also stitched 98 runs together their team cross the victory line and become the champions of the NB Corporate T20 Tournament.

Sydney for his all round performance of 54* and 2 wkts was declared “Man of the Finals”
