Ranji Player Gandhar Bhatawadekar smashes a match winning 109 for SPG in A Div Police Shield’22

Shivaji Park Gymkhana batting first at Islam Gymkhana Ground posted a big total of 365/10 in 65 overs. Even though they lost their openers early, but their middle order comprising of Gandhar Bhatwadekar and Jayesh Pokhare brought them back into the game with a partnership of 132 runs for the 4th wicket. Manal Kawle who scored 48 runs also supported Jayesh Pokhare well as both the batters stitched 117 run stand for the 3rd wicket. While Jayesh top scored in the innings scoring 141 runs, Gandhar was the 2nd highest scorer who made an equal impact as he went on to score a brilliant 109 off just 91 balls. Gandhar, an experienced campaigner soaked the pressure well and took SPG towards a strong position with his enterprising batting where he displayed wide range of shots smashing 12 fours and 4 sixes. Salil Agharkar with 6 wkts was the pick of the lot.

Islam Gymkhana in reply gave an equally tough fight falling short of just 3 runs as they got all out for 362 runs. Varun  Joijode bowled a brilliant spell taking a 7 wkt haul for Shivaji Park Gymkhana.

Result: Shivaji Park Gymkhana won the match by 3 runs
