Played at Labarriere Park 2 (WPG), Winnipeg Blues opting to bat first made a total of 126/6 in 20 overs. A relatively modest total in today’s standards, Winnipeg lost quick top and middle order wickets with scoreboard reading 76/6 in 16 overs at one stage. However, WPG batters Adeel Abbas (45* off 43 balls) and all-rounder Prayag Kumar at no.8 did the rescue act with 50 run partnership in the death overs for the 7th wicket. Prayag scored a quickfire 29* off 14 balls which included 4 boundaries, an aggressive cameo which made a lot of difference in the end.

Defending a low total, WPG bowlers did an excellent job of restricting Royal Kings XI to 124 runs all-out in 19 overs. Prayag led from the front with the ball as well coming up with a crucial spell of 3/28 in 4 overs including key wickets of openers. Simranpreet and Milan Dave also bagged 2 wickets each as Winnipeg Blues won the match by 2 runs.
