Opener Bhupen’s quick 66 goes in vain as DY Patil clinches a win in MCA Corporate Shield’24

DY Patil ‘A” after being put to bat first made a total of 199/9 in 20 overs giving a target of exact 200 to Nirlon team. Naushad Shaikh (45 runs) and Ayaz Khan (35 runs) at the middle order were the top scorers. From the bowlers, Saurabh Singh with 3 wkts, Sylvester D Souza and Hemant Buchade with 2wkts each were the pick of the lot.

Nirlon Limited in reply could only manage 152/9 in 20 overs in which opener Bhupen Lalwani was the highest scorer in the match with a knock of 66 runs. Bhupen scored 66 off mere 40 balls smashing 5 fours and 4 sixes however he lacked support from the other end to get things going. Experienced spinner, Iqbal Abdullah with 4/38 was the pick of the lot as DY Patil ‘A’ won the match by 47 runs.
