Opener Bhupen Lalwani who has been rising through the ranks across all age groups continues to make a strong case for himself as he has showed excellent temperament and technique this season. Bhupen who already had 5 fifties to his name registered his maiden Ranji Hundred vs Chhattisgarh on 9th Feb stitching a brilliant partnership with Prithvi Shaw.

Mumbai Team batting first at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur made a total of 351 runs with openers Bhupen and Prithvi Shaw putting on a record 244 runs opening stand for the 1st wicket. Prithvi scored 159 off 185 balls smashing 18 fours and 3 sixes while Bhupen smashed a rock solid 102 runs off 238 balls which included 10 boundaries!

Chhattisgarh in reply scored 350 runs with Tushar Despande picking up 5 wkts for 121 runs. Mumbai in 2nd innings are now 253/6 in 82 overs on Day 4 at the end of the game’s play with opener Bhupen Lalwani (59 runs) and Captain Ajinkya Rahane (56 runs) smashing half centuries!

The match looks evenly poised at the moment and it will be one exciting Day 5 to see in whose favor the match turns!
