Mahen’s fifer helps Spartans defend low total vs Millwall Stars in London Sports League’24

Spartans CC Essex 3rd XI opting to bat first made were all out for 156 runs in 34.2 overs. Most of their batters chipped in with starts but could not convert it into something substantial.  All-Rounder Mahen Rajput top scored with 26 runs while Sri Harsha and G Nagarajan chipped in with 20’s too at the middle order.

Chasing 157, the pressure was certainly more on the Spartans bowlers however they did a fantastic job of restricting Millwall Stars to just 84 all out in 28.1 overs.  Mahen Rajput owned the day with all-round show as he also returned with match winning bowling spell coming up with 5/23 in 7 overs which included key top and middle order wickets.

Spartans CC Essex won the match by 72 runs, Mahen Rajput was declared ‘Player of the Match”
