Jain Irrigation after being put to bat first at MCA BKC Ground in Mumbai were struggling at one stage with scoreboard reading 57/4 in the first 6 overs. The match took an interesting turn courtesy two young all-rounders Aayush Zimare and Sairaj Patil taking the centrestage. Aayush coming at no.4 scored a crucial 48 off just 32 balls while Sairaj snatched the game away from the opposition going on to score a brilliant 101 in mere 45 deliveries, an innings which included 9 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 227.27 as both the batters stitched an important partnership which made a huge difference. Wicket-Keeper Suraj Shinde coming at no.7 played the finishers role with a quick 25* off 11 balls which included 3 sixes in the death overs.
DY Patil Group B in reply were cleaned up for 122 runs in 17.3 overs courtesy a match winning spell by fast bowler Shashank Attarde who returned with excellent bowling figures of 5/29 in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers also did a great job not allowing DY batters to settle down as Jain Irrigation went on to win the finals by 120 runs.
