Harpreet Singh Bhatia’s crucial 53 steers Chhattisgarh to a win over Haryana in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy’23

Haryana after being put to bat first at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Indore made a fine total of 162/5 in 20 overs. Opener Ankit Kumar top scored with 59 runs while rest of the batters batted around him. From the bowlers, Shashank Singh and Ajay Mandal bagged 2 wkts for Chhattisgarh.

Chasing 163, Chhattisgarh did lost their openers early but it was their Senior Pro Harpreet Singh Bhatia leading the chase with a match winning half century. Harpreet who already holds the record for most fifties in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy registered his 17th half century. Harpreet scored 53 off 42 balls while he was well supported by Sanjeet Desai (21 runs) and later a flashy cameo by Ajay Mandal who scored 33* off 16 balls to push Chhattisgarh towards victory line with 4 balls to spare.

Result: Chhattisgarh won by 5 wkts
