Bhupen Lalwani registers his maiden One Day Fifty vs Tamil Nadu in Vijay Hazare Trophy’24

Tamil Nadu batting first at Vizzy Stadium in Mumbai made a total of 301/10 in 50 overs with half centuries registered by B Indrajith (75 runs) and Vijay Shankar (71 runs). From the bowlers, Harsh Yadav with 4/68 was the pick of the lot while Shubham and PM Agarwal bagging 2wkts a piece.

Chhattisgarh in reply chasing 302 were off to a solid start with openers Bhupen Lalwani and Ashutosh Singh providing a 118 run opening stand which set the tone for the chase. Bhupen brought up his maiden half century in Vijay Hazare Trophy scoring 54 off 81 balls. Bhupen was last season Mumbai Ranji’s highest run getter with 5 half centuries and a century and he continues his good run for Chhattisgarh this season.

However, the rest of the batters post the wickets of Bhupen and Ashutosh could’nt capitalize as Chhattisgarh were all out for 228 runs in 46 overs.

Result: TNCA won by 73 runs.
