Basim Khan’s 93 ensures a thriller of a win for Spartans CC in Essex and East London Cricket League’25

Neo CC opting to bat first at Jack Carter Pavilion Ground made a total of 241 runs in 35.2 overs powered by opener Paramveer Singh’s century. Apart from Paramveer, the rest of the batters found it a bit difficult to get going vs spartans bowlers.  Rakesh Chowdary with 3/33 in 9 overs including 3 maidens was the pick of the lot while MV Rao bagged 2/50 in 9 overs as both the bowlers remained pick of the lot.

Chasing 236, Spartans CC Essex successfully chased down the score in 41.2 overs winning the match by 3 wkts. Opener Fahad Khan (40 runs) and Basim Khan at the top order stitched a crucial partnership to set the stage for Spartans. Basim Khan led from the front with responsible batting as he anchored the chase with a solid knock of 93* off 111 balls which included 13 boundaries and a six. Basim held fort from one end even wickets were tumbling from the other end. Basim was well supported by middle order bats Sai Prajwal Reddy (27 runs) and MV Rao (30 runs) who chipped in with crucial contributions.

Spartans CC Essex chased down 241 with a composed and collective effort led by Basim’s unbeaten 93 which stood as highlight performance of the match.
