One of the rising talents in Indian Domestic Circuit Bhupen Lalwani who was one of the top run getters for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy last season continues to make a mark for himself this time representing Uttarakhand team in the current season.
In his first outing vs Bengal, Bhupen scored a solid looking 71 off 128 balls coming at middle order absorbing pressure to take his team to a fighting position. However, Bengal batters dominated across both the innings to win the match by 8 wkts.
In the next match which followed vs Railways, Uttarakhand gave a steady comeback putting on 398 runs with Bhupen registering yet another half century as he scored 78 off 192 balls. A marathon innings which required great patience and commitment batting alongside Yuvraj who scored 92 off 272 balls as both the batters defended bowlers like a wall!
Railways in reply were all out for 333 runs as Uttarakhand who batted for 23 overs in 2nd innings losing just 1 wicket won the match on 1st innings lead.
