Akhil’s 93 ensures BPCL remains on top vs DY in the ongoing A Division Times Shield’25

DY Patil B Team opting to bat first on DY Patil University Ground made a total of 359/10 in 73.4 overs. Yash Dhull at no.4 scored a century while Yogesh Takawale at the middle order scored a handy half century. From the bowlers, Dhanit Raut with 4/70 in 18 overs including 4 maidens was the pick of the lot.

BPCL in reply batted really well posting a first innings total of 412 runs in 99.3 overs. Openers Ayush Mhatre and Akhil Herwadkar once again set the tone for the innings as they provided an important 124 run opening stand. Ayush scored 70 runs off 56 balls while Akhil was the top scorer for BPCL smashing a solid 93 off 121 balls which included 11 boundaries and a six. Dhawal Kulkarni (41 runs) and Dhanit Raut (57 runs) at the lower middle order further upped the game for BPCL taking a first innings lead of 53 runs.

DY Patil batted for 31.1 overs in their 2nd innings scoring 238/4 before the end of the game’s play where BPCL won the match on 1st innings lead.
