Into the all-important finale of the tournament, M.C.C opting to bat first at Oval Maidan in Mumbai made a total of 243/5 in 40 overs. Openers Aarav Thakker and Captain Anand Tiwari set the tone for the innings putting on a 110 run opening stand in 21.1 overs. Anand scored a solid 50 off 68 balls while Aarav Thakker went on to score a brilliant century smashing 115 off 119 balls which included 11 boundaries. Aarav was also well supported by Om Bangar who scored 40 runs at no.3

Sansai Cricket Academy in reply were all out for 223 runs in 38.1 overs with Captain Aayush Shinde scoring 93 runs off 79 balls opening the innings. From the bowlers, Utkarsh Upadhyay led from the front coming up with a match winning spell of 5/39 in 8 overs which impacted the game in a big manner.

Utkarsh and Aarav’s heroics ensured MCC emerged champions of the Sarang Sports U16 Tournament while Aarav Thakker for his impressive century was declared ‘man of the match”
