All-Rounder Prayag Kumar stars with a crucial 87 in the finals of MCA Elite Division 2025

Into the all-important finals of the MCA Elite Division 2025, Winnipeg Blues after being put to bat first at Labarriere Park (WPG) made a total of 225/9 in 50 overs. In what appeared to be a collapse at one stage, they slowly got back into the game in the 2nd half of their innings thanks to a match winning knock by Prayag Kumar. Soaking in all the pressure and coming at no.7, Prayag kept his nerves and stitched a 100 run partnership for 8th wicket with Milan Dave which changed the course of the match. Prayag scored a solid 87 off 107 balls which had 8 boundaries and 2 sixes while Milan Dave gave excellent support with 51 runs off 54 balls. It was truly a partnership which made all the difference in the end.

Sher-E-Maples in reply were all out for 106 runs in 31.4 overs thanks to a disciplined and excellent bowling performance by Winnipeg Bowlers. Every bowled chipped in and did his job as Winnipeg Blues managed to clinch a massive win by 119 runs. Kulwinder and Hirusha bagged 2 wkts each while Plash Varma with 3/21 was the pick of the lot. Prayag who rescued the innings with the bat also chipped in with 1 wicket.

Prayag Kumar ended up winning many awards in the day as he was crowned the Best Bowler and MVP for Elite Division 2025 alongwith Man of the Match award in the finals.
